It depends on the style, Chinese, Japanese, five element school etc. Probably Chinese protocols would include, Bai hui (Governor 20) on the top of the scalp, 5 element might use windows of the sky points around neck and upper torso, or release the 5 internal dragons, points on abdomen and legs, Japanese school uses points determined by abdominal reflexes. Most of the powerful points tend to be on forearms and lower legs, back points would also be included. It also depends on the insight of the practitioner and what issues he sees as require to be addressing. therefore protocols vary between practitioners. hope that was useful.

How do you cure depression?
I beleive in using wisdom and taking medicine when you need it even if it is for mental reasons.
But what are good coping methods, and ways to overcome depression? Is there a cure? And if there is not a cure what is a good way to deal with this and still have a quality of life?
it all depends on the type of depression. some can be cured from exercise and good diet. But others that are more severe can’t.
It’s so tough. I think really trying to have a positive attitude. Hope is key. Always having a goal and something to look forward to in life. Good friends even if only a few and family all help me. I do need medication and still have bad days. But it’s all in how I approach things. My attitude toward life in general that makes a huge different in my life. Find something you enjoy and do it on a regular basis. Take care of yourself. Treat yourself to something special once in awhile. Most importantly have fun.
what are some treatments or cures for chronic depression?
I have been chronically depressed for the past 2 years and I don’t know what to do. It It is really bad now and things that I used to love seem dull and pointless. I would like to know of every solution I can to treat and/or cure depression, because I believe this is a serious issue that I need to deal with.
I have started taking fish oil, which has omega 3 in it. It hasn’t been long enough for me to see results so I’ll just hold my breath. but what I don’t understand is why I’m going to have to jump through all these hoops (exercising, eating right, getting more friends) to feel good when one of my friends I know can just sit on his butt, do nothing but play internet games all day and be perfectly happy with his life. That used to work for me but as of late I’m just getting tired of it. I just feel generally bored with life right now. everything seems dull and pointless. Music, coffee, and videogames used to do the trick for me, but they just don’t do jack anymore.
Talk with your doctor. General Practitioners can Rx antidepressants. That in combo with therapy, talking about your problems and getting help finding solutions and appeasing, is usually the route they want you to go. If you don’t wanna take meds, you should seek talk therapy/cognitive therapy and taking omega 3’s (1000 mg 3 times a day) and that has been found to help balance out chemical imbalances in combo with working out and eating right on a regular basis. Its going to take some time so don’t expect things to change over night
exercise cures depression?
people say that exercise can help with depression. well i am depressed. i hate my life. i have no friends, no job, no car and i never go out. i left school at 17 and havent done anything for 4 years. i cant be fucked exercising. i go outside to work out on the home gym and i do 2 reps and give up. i have no energy to do anything. i just sit at home watching tv or youtube. i wish i was dead. i have nothing to live for.
i have played electric guitar for about 9 years. i never took lessons and i am bad at it
It has to start in the head. You have to make a decision to change your life. Noone or nothing will change it for you. I hate running with a passion, but I get my shoes on, walk out the door, and run because it is good for me, and once I get out there, it clears my mind and I feel so much better afterward.
Go find some friends. Go look for a job. Or perhaps go back to school. Get your GED like I did and go to a tradeschool or community college. Apply for financial aid. I go to a community college and have received enough aid each semester that I don’t have to pay a penny out of pocket. Of course you have to pay it back once you graduate, but if you find good work afterward, no big deal.
Don’t wait for good feelings to fly your way. It won’t happen. You have to get the willpower and desire to change your life. When you let yourself wallow in your depression, you only dig your hole deeper because it is hard for people to be friends with you due to your personality and as long as you don’t have any hope for yourself, nothing will change.
Have some hope my friend. Just get up and do it–your only option other than going to a medical professional to determine if there is a physical cause for your depression and treat it with medicine.
Will Midol and other PMS medications help cure depression and anxiety? Is it safe for a man to take PMS meds?
I have a question. I have been suffering from recurent depression and anxiety most of my life. Someone told me that I should take Midol or some other PMS medication to treat depresion.
I am affraid to take that, because I am a guy. What affect would PMS medication have on a guy?
Midol and other PMS medications will not do much if you have a chemical imbalance that is causing your anxiety and depression. It may make you feel a little better for a while, but not enough to feel great. Those medications won’t do anything to you because you are male.
I suggest seeing a counselor. A counselor is often cheaper. They cannot prescribe medication, but they usually work for an M.D. or D.O. that can. Medication has made a world of difference for me and I do see a counselor on occasion.

How can the Sun be a cure for depression? (I need a somewhat scientific answer please!)?
Im writing an essay for science on light, and i need to know how the Sun can cure depression, and maybe how lack of sun/light could cause depression. Thanks!
Unraveling the Sun’s Role in Depression
More Evidence That Sunlight Affects Mood-Lifting Chemical in the Brain
WebMD Health NewsDec. 5, 2002 — A sunny day may do more than just boost your mood — it may increase levels of a natural antidepressant in the brain. A new study shows that the brain produces more of the mood-lifting chemical serotonin on sunny days than on darker days.
Researchers say the findings provide more evidence that lack of sunlight and reduced serotonin levels are important in the development of seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
People with SAD develop symptoms of depression in the winter months when there is less daylight. Symptoms include difficulty concentrating, low energy or fatigue, loss of interest in daily activities, moodiness, and sleeping excessive amounts.
Serotonin levels have been found to be normal in previous studies of people with SAD. But researchers say those studies looked at serotonin levels in the fluid that circulates around the brain and spine, which may have interfered with their results.
In the current study, researchers measured serotonin levels in the blood vessels leading directly from the brain — a more accurate measure of serotonin levels, they say. The study, by Gavin Lambert of the Baker Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia, and colleagues, appears in the Dec. 7 issue of The Lancet.
Samples were taken from 101 healthy men during each of the four seasons and compared with various weather factors, such as temperature, rainfall, hours of bright sunlight, and atmospheric pressure.
Researchers found that regardless of the season, the turnover of serotonin in the brain was affected by the amount of sunlight on any given day. And the levels of serotonin were higher on bright days than on overcast or cloudy ones. In fact, the rate of serotonin production in the brain was directly related to the duration of bright sunlight.
No other atmospheric conditions were related to serotonin levels.
The researchers say their study shows that the prevailing amount of sunlight clearly affects serotonin levels in healthy individuals, but more research is needed to see if people predisposed to SAD are affected in the same way by environmental factors.
