Try to talk to a close friend that is positive about the worst things and confide in them……..If you still are distressed maybe you could take time with a pet if you have one they will love you through thick and thin. Ask yourself, "who controls me?" Take control TODAY! References :
There is no natural cure – just like there is no pharmaceutical cure for depression, but there are natural ways to manage it, that are more effective than medication. Say no to drugs.
Try exercise. Eating a correct, healthy diet. No dependencies, including no refined sugar, especially high fructose corn syrup. No fried food.
Massage. Music. Laughter. Healthy social interaction.
Oh, and insulin. Find out if your pancreas are functioning.
Those will work. That is what worked for me. References : one happy dude, diabetic, formerly bipolar.
I have a mild form of bipolar, called Cyclothymia, as well as general anxiety and depression. After learning that regular anti-depressants don’t help, and can actually cause rapid cycling to get worse, doctors wanted to place me on mood stabilizers. However, I learned that most mood stabilizers are bad for women like me who want to get pregnant, because they can cause birth defects. They can also cause kidney and liver damage in those who take them. None of these were something I wanted to mess with unless I absolutely had to.
So, I researched and found that Omega Essential Fatty Acids (found in fish oils, and more) can help immensely with people suffering from Bipolar and anxiety and depression. Even my general practitioner doctor assured me that there have been reports and tests done to prove the good effects of Omegas; he fully supported me in my endeavor to find natural treatment.
I’ve been taking a combination of Omega supplements, Omega 3-6-9, and DHA and EPA fish oils for more than a year, and I haven’t felt better or more in control of my moods! No more meds for me! And my family is happy, too!
I take Nordic Naturals DHA supplements, and Organic Flaxseed Oil supplements.
NOTE: This is not a one-time cure, but is a natural way of dealing with the disorders, and can improve the symptoms somewhat over time.
I have had depression for 50 years and I have not been cured!
It’s an illness, which you have to find way of accepting, like MS, you can find things to help but not cure.
My advice >>> It will help if you set yourself small goals each day and do your best to achieve them. If you can’t manage them, don’t punish yourself, accept it and try again tomorrow.
This is not the only way you can help yourself but it’s one I like to concentrate on. If you need to ask me more, you are quite welcome to e-mail me, the link, is on my profile.
I have found a Tai Chi class which I am going to try, it’s something which interests me and will be something to look forward to each week! Perhaps you could try something you have always fancied trying!
Depression has to be handled on a day-to-day basis, sometimes hour-to-hour!
Medication works, to an extent but you still have to make a conscious effort, at all you try to do.
Some people may say ‘Yes’ to your question but they have probably just had what I like to call, ‘a 24hour depression’; like a 24 hour bug.
Real depression does not just appear because you broke up with someone. Nor disappear because you met someone. You can forget it for a while but it will raise its ugly head again, sometime!
Speak to your doctor, if you haven’t already; they are really good now, for finding help for people with depression. It took 35 years for someone, to take notice of me!
One of the things which depression causes, is a feeling of isolation because if you haven’t suffered it, you do not understand the complexity of it. Friends and family will continually say the wrong thing, unwittingly and it can make you feel like you are completely alone with the problem!
Again I say, e-mail if you need to talk or know more of my own experience. I will help if I can.
Good Luck my friend. Pamela x
