Does oxytocin work for treatment of Depression?

Author: I read that oxytocin is a naturally produced hormone. It improves relations with others. For this reason it is used in treatment for autism and social phobia. I would like to know if oxytocin also works for depression and what brands are out there in the market??

Oxytocin? I’m not sure about that
I dont much about the drug, all I know is that it is a hormone produced to bring on contractions to push the baby out when in labour

Oxytocin is a hormone used in women to stimulate the reproductive system. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain and is no way related to hormones. Oxytocin will do nothing for depression, I suffer depression, you need SSRI’s for depression.
