I am sure or at least I guess he has a GP(reg Doc) Convince him to go and tell the Dr. the whole truth. He defiantly needs a SSRI (Prozac or something ) and you are right on about the Drinking it is the worst thing he can be doing. Offer to go to a few AA meetings with him that may help and they are all over , just google your area, you sound like a good friend and seem to have read the situation right. He may be Bi-Polar or something of that nature and may need some other drugs and they are not cheap, but health is one thing you can not scimp on so if he saves his drinking money and gets a bit more under control he probably will be able to make a few extra dollars. Keep up the good work hang tough and good luck. I have usually seen then advertised on the T.V. or in the Local newspaper. I would try typing it in the search web and you should be able to find something.
